Nongprue, Chonburi– Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to a single-storey rental property in Soi Thung Klom-Tan Man 6, Moo 9, on Wednesday afternoon (May 27th) after a blaze broke out in one of the rooms.
At approximately 3:50 PM, officers from the Nong Prue Municipality Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division, along with four fire trucks, Pattaya’s Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue team, an ambulance, and support vehicles, arrived at the scene.

The property consists of three connected single-storey rental rooms. The fire originated in the outermost first room and had begun spreading into the second room when firefighters arrived. Crews brought the blaze under control within about 15 minutes. The first room was completely gutted, while the second room sustained only minor damage. The third room was unaffected.
Ms. Nittaya Kong-onan, 43, who rents the affected room, told reporters she was not inside at the time of the fire. She believes the cause was a faulty electrical plug that had been sparking (“popping”) whenever something was plugged in. She said she had repeatedly asked her boyfriend to replace it, but the repair was never carried out.

Police from Nong Prue Police Station attended the scene to document the incident. Preliminary findings point to an electrical short circuit caused by the poorly maintained plug.
Officials noted that the incident could have been far more serious, as the burning room was located only about 10–20 metres from a gas storage area containing numerous 48 kg LPG cylinders. Fortunately, the fire did not reach the gas storage room, preventing a potential major explosion.

No injuries were reported. Authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
