Pattaya, May 24th, 2026 – A young Bolt ride-hailing driver was left severely injured after being savagely assaulted by a large group of men in the early hours of Sunday morning in Pattaya.

At approximately 3:19 a.m. on May 24th, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Center received a report of the incident near the entrance to Soi Phonpraphanimit 5 on Phonpraphanimit Road. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and found 18-year-old Mr. Krisanaphon Chanuan Klang, a driver from Ubon Ratchathani province, lying injured in the middle of the road.

The victim had suffered serious injuries, including a heavily swollen and bruised face, a split eyebrow, and a swollen head, with blood covering his face. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before transporting him urgently to Pattaya Hospital.

According to the victim’s account, he was driving to pick up a passenger when a sedan began honking at him. He paid no attention until he said he accidentally touched his horn while signaling a turn. The other driver apparently took this as a provocation, cut in front of him, and forced him to stop. A group of more than ten men then emerged and immediately began punching and kicking him without mercy until he nearly lost consciousness.

The victim further stated that a pickup truck arrived during the assault, with additional men joining in the beating before the entire group fled the scene.

A local resident who witnessed the attack told reporters he did not dare intervene because the assailants were numerous and showed no fear of the law. He waited until they had left before contacting rescue services.

CCTV footage obtained by The Pattaya News reporters and shared earlier on our social media platforms clearly captures the incident, showing the sedan cutting off the victim’s vehicle and the group assault on the road.

The victim has filed a complaint at Nong Prue Police Station, requesting a swift investigation and arrest of those responsible. The brazen nature of the attack in a busy tourist area has sparked widespread criticism from locals, who view it as yet another example of unchecked violence and disregard for the law in Pattaya.
