Koh Larn – On May 22nd, 2026, at the multipurpose hall of Wat Mai Samran on Koh Larn, Mr. Anusak Piriyomorn, Chief of Banglamung District, presided over a ceremony to present official registration documents for non-hotel accommodations to 40 local operators.
This was to promote legal business operations and elevate tourism standards on the popular island destination.
In his address, Mr. Anusak stated that issuing these registration documents represents a big step forward in developing high-quality tourism on Koh Larn. The move results from close cooperation between government authorities and the private sector to improve service quality, safety, and confidence among both Thai and international tourists.
He said that receiving the registration document is not only about gaining the right to operate but also carries a shared responsibility to maintain legal standards. Operators must consider the impact on the local community, society, and the overall image of Koh Larn as a key tourist attraction in Chonburi Province and Thailand.
The registration documents for non-hotel accommodations are valid for five years from the date of issuance. Operators wishing to continue their business must notify the registrar at least 90 days before the document expires. The registration does not grant any additional legal rights beyond its stated purpose.
Mr. Anusak further urged all operators to continuously maintain high safety standards, including proper electrical systems, fire prevention equipment, emergency exits, cleanliness, and hygiene within their premises. He stressed the importance of building trust with visitors.
Additionally, he instructed operators to ensure their establishments do not become venues for illegal gatherings or any unlawful activities, such as drug use, gambling, prostitution, brawls, or the carrying of weapons. Such actions could disturb residents and tourists alike and damage the island’s reputation.
The distribution of these documents is part of ongoing efforts to formalize and professionalize accommodation services on Koh Larn, a major tourist hub known for its beaches and proximity to Pattaya.
