Chonburi, May 19th, 2026 – Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Sri Racha has announced the successful birth of a healthy female zebra foal, showing the zoo’s continued achievement in wildlife breeding and conservation.
The zebra calf was born on April 15th, 2026, to a 7-year-old mother and a 9-year-old father. According to zoo officials, the youngster is in excellent health, energetic, and already walking closely beside her mother while nursing naturally. Visitors can now see the charming new arrival up close at the African Animals exhibit.

Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, expressed delight at the birth, describing it as another proud milestone for the zoo’s breeding program.
“The zebra foal is strong and lively as expected for her age. She stays right by her mother’s side, and our veterinary team and keepers are closely monitoring both,” he said.
With the addition of the new calf, Khao Kheow Open Zoo now cares for a total of five zebras.

The baby zebra has not yet been named. The zoo plans to organize a special public voting campaign in the coming weeks, giving tourists and locals the chance to participate in choosing her name and compete for attractive prizes.
Mr. Narongwit added, “We warmly invite families, children, and all visitors to come and enjoy the cuteness of our new zebra foal, take memorable photos, and join in the upcoming naming activity at the African Animals zone, which is open daily.”

The birth is seen as further proof of the zoo’s success in creating a suitable environment for breeding rare and endangered species.
