Pattaya Joins Hands with Tourism Sector for Major Event to Increase Number of Indian Tourists

PATTAYA, May 12th, 2026

Pattaya City, together with the tourism industry, successfully hosted the third edition of the “HOTEL X ATTRACTION MEET INDIAN DMC 2026” event at the Grand Palazzo Hotel Pattaya. Mr. Damrongkiat Pinijkan, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, led the opening ceremony, which drew a large crowd of distinguished guests and tourism operators.

Notable attendees included Mr. Apichat Chanhom, Director of the Tourism and Sports Division of Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization; Mrs. Ampai Sakdanukulchit Slaiwinsky, Chonburi Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer; Mr. Rattanachai Sutthidechanai, Eastern Region Representative of the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB); along with hotel executives, attraction operators, and key partners from Indian travel companies.

Mr. Thanet Suphonsahatsarungsi, President of the Chonburi Tourism Federation Association, revealed that the event was jointly organized by the Chonburi Tourism Federation Association, the Thai Hotels Association Eastern Chapter, and the Chonburi Attractions Association. This provided a platform for hotel operators, tourist attractions, and tourism businesses in the Pattaya-Chonburi area to present tailored tour packages, programs, service details, and pricing directly to Indian Destination Management Companies (DMCs) participating in the event.

The Indian tourist market is regarded as one of Thailand’s most important source markets. In 2025, more than 2.4 million Indian visitors traveled to Thailand, ranking third among all international arrivals behind only Malaysia and China, which exceeded 32 million. Statistics for January to April 2026 show Indian tourists continuing to hold the third position with 206,641 arrivals.

For 2026, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has set a target of approximately 36.7 million international visitors, with a strong focus on building confidence in safety and security while targeting high-spending travelers. The Indian market remains a key high-potential segment.

The “HOTEL X ATTRACTION MEET INDIAN DMC 2026” event served as a vital networking platform, connecting over 70 local tourism operators with more than 50 leading Indian travel companies. It wants to generate business opportunities and show Pattaya’s readiness to deliver high-quality tourism experiences that cater to the lifestyle preferences of Indian travelers across all dimensions.
