Pattaya, Thailand– In a dramatic joint operation, Thai immigration authorities and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have arrested a key international drug trafficking suspect who was hiding in a condominium in central Pattaya.
Acting on intelligence from U.S. authorities, the operation was coordinated under the direction of Immigration Bureau Commissioner Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanumat Bunyalak and senior officers from the Immigration Bureau and the Narcotics Suppression Bureau.
On the evening of May 1st, 2026, officers from Chonburi Immigration and narcotics police raided a condominium in Soi Buakhao in central Pattaya. They successfully apprehended the suspect identified as Mr. Stanislav, a 34-year-old American national.
Mr. Stanislav was wanted by the United States on charges of international drug trafficking. He was living in the condo with his Thai girlfriend. During the search, authorities found syringes and suspicious substances; however, laboratory checks later confirmed these were hormone stimulants and not illegal narcotics.
Investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly played a significant role in a transnational drug network. He reportedly coordinated with foreign syndicates in Thailand to procure various drugs, including methamphetamine and cocaine, which were then smuggled into the United States. The network had already been partially dismantled by U.S. authorities, leading investigators to trace connections back to him.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken for further questioning in coordination with DEA agents. He has reportedly provided little useful information so far and denied the allegations initially.
Thai authorities have revoked his permission to stay in the Kingdom, placed him on the national blacklist, and are preparing to extradite him to the United States to face justice.
