Takhian Tia Mayor Joins Hands with Cycling Club to Promote Health-Focused Cycling, Community Unity, and Local Tourism

Takhian Tia, May 1st, 2026– Mr. Mitchai Prakobtham, Mayor of Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality and President of the Takhian Tia Cycling Club, chaired a strategic meeting to outline future plans for health-oriented cycling activities designed at boosting public wellness, community harmony, and local tourism.

The meeting took place at the Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality office. Joining Mayor Mitchai were Deputy Mayor Mr. Wachira Suchue, along with committee members Mr. Sarmarn Supchuen, Mr. Seri Dhammapitakpong, Mr. Weerasak Thipyasri, club executives, members, and local cyclists who attended in full force.

The primary objective of the gathering was to establish a clear direction for promoting physical exercise through cycling. While no official competitive events have been scheduled yet, participants focused on building readiness and setting long-term guidelines for future activities.

In his remarks, Mayor Mitchai described the importance of regular exercise for public health. “Promoting physical activity is vital for the well-being of our residents,” he said. “Cycling not only improves health but also builds love, unity, and strong relationships within the community.”

He described the area’s strong potential for integrated development, noting Takhian Tia’s rich natural attractions, including forests, mountains, and signature local features such as coconut plantations and authentic regional cuisine like Gaeng Kai Kala (chicken curry in coconut shell). These assets, he believes, can be leveraged to create cycling routes that simultaneously promote community-based tourism and encourage healthier lifestyles among residents and visitors.

Club members and business owners will now work to design appropriate activities tailored to the local context. Officials anticipate organizing larger-scale cycling events in the future, with formal public announcements to follow once plans are finalized.
