On the 24th of April 2026, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow warmly welcomed Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China, and concurrently Minister of Foreign Affairs. Together, they co-chaired the 3rd Thailand-China Foreign Ministers’ Consultation Mechanism Meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in Krabi Province.
Highlights from the meeting:
* Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the Thailand-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and building a Community with a Shared Future for greater peace, prosperity, and sustainability.
* Thailand and China agreed to play an active role in promoting peace, stability, and development in the region amid today’s rapidly changing global landscape.
* Both sides agreed to develop the next Joint Action Plan on Thailand-China Strategic Cooperation, with a focus on future-ready sectors including technology, innovation, electric vehicles, human resource development, green transition, and renewable energy.
* In-depth discussions also covered transboundary challenges such as water management, air pollution, and transnational crime, alongside bilateral, regional, and multilateral cooperation.
With over 50 years of friendship, Thailand and China continue to look forward to a shared and prosperous future together.
