Bangkok – Thailand and China have committed to intensifying teamwork against transnational crime, with a particular emphasis on dismantling cross-border scam operations, following high-level talks on Friday.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at Government House, where the two sides agreed to incorporate the fight against scams into a new Thailand–China Joint Action Plan. The plan is to boost security cooperation and restore public confidence, while aligning with broader national development strategies to produce concrete results across multiple sectors, according to government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek.

The discussions also advanced bilateral relations to a deeper strategic partnership, with both nations pledging more practical and coordinated efforts in key areas of mutual interest.
Wang Yi, visiting Thailand at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a courtesy call on Prime Minister Anutin in a relaxed atmosphere featuring local delicacies such as durian and khao lam. Anutin thanked China for its consistent international support and stressed the enduring closeness between the two countries. In response, Wang Yi expressed strong confidence in Thailand’s political stability and long-term development prospects.
The meeting covered plans for high-level visits, including an invitation for Prime Minister Anutin to attend the APEC Leaders’ Meeting in China in November. A reciprocal visit by Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Thailand was also discussed and accepted in principle.

On regional matters, both sides welcomed recent improvements in Thailand-Cambodia relations and stressed the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation. They further agreed to enhance joint mechanisms and activities to ensure more tangible and sustainable outcomes in their partnership.
The talks show the ongoing momentum in Thailand-China relations, which continue to expand in trade, security, and diplomatic coordination amid evolving regional dynamics.
