Huay Yai, Chonburi – Thai police from Provincial Police Region 2 launched a major operation earlier this week targeting illegal activities in a popular expatriate residential area.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers under the command of Pol. Col. Warawut Nityawan, Superintendent of Huay Yai Police Station, cordoned off and searched a village project in Tambon Huay Yai after tips from concerned citizens nearby that a house was full of foreign nationals acting suspicious.

The operation resulted in the arrest of nine individuals, including:
– Chinese nationals working illegally without work permits on tourist visas
– Individuals in possession of and linked to e-cigarettes and smuggled goods
– Foreigners who had entered Thailand illegally
Authorities also seized a large quantity of contraband, including:
– Electronic cigarettes (vapes)
– Foreign-brand cigarettes not cleared through customs
– Electric mahjong tables and related gambling equipment
All suspects and confiscated items were taken to Huay Yai Police Station for further interrogation and legal proceedings on multiple charges.
Provincial Police Region 2 has reaffirmed its commitment to a strict and ongoing campaign against illegal foreign labor and the smuggling of untaxed goods. The force stated that such operations will continue to maintain public order and safety for residents.
