Pattaya, April 23rd, 2026 – Pattaya City received a high-level delegation from Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, led by H.E. Mrs. Daniela Schmitt. The visit was to exchange ideas and experiences on aligning local development mechanisms with the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and advancing Pattaya’s “Smart City” initiative, a key strategy for modernizing city management through advanced technology.
H.E. Mrs. Daniela Schmitt expressed strong commitment to promoting cooperation between Rhineland-Palatinate and Thailand, with particular focus on local-level teamwork to support sustainable economic growth. The delegation also showed special interest in opportunities for partnership in key strategic industries.
The German delegation also expressed keen interest in Pattaya’s Smart City development model, especially the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital innovations to improve city administration, enhance quality of life, boost public safety, and deliver more efficient services to residents. Pattaya’s approach is regarded as an internationally recognized benchmark in this field.
The reception of the German delegation marks another big step for Pattaya in expanding its international partnerships. It is to further develop the city’s Smart City potential, better integrate the local economy with the EEC, and drive sustainable long-term growth, while reinforcing Pattaya’s position as a leading tourism and economic hub in the region.
