Pattaya, April 17th, 2026 — A pair of video clips circulating on social media has triggered widespread anger and criticism in Pattaya after appearing to show three young men of apparent Middle Eastern descent assaulting an older European tourist while he was playing with water on Walking Street.
The incident is believed to have occurred on the evening of April 16th, 2026. A Facebook user posted the two clips, lasting 27 seconds and 15 seconds respectively, in the popular public group “Pattaya Talk.” The poster stated that the fight began after one party sprayed the other with water, leading to an argument and dispute. It’s noted that the area the tourists were in was featuring nonstop water play all around and was far from a dry zone, and all parties involved were already wet.
The footage reportedly captures three young men, described as having Middle Eastern features, ganging up on a Caucasian tourist estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old. The victim is seen being knocked to the ground, after which the attackers allegedly continued to kick him without mercy, even as other tourists, both Thai and foreign, tried to intervene and stop the assault. The three men reportedly ignored the pleas to stop.
A reporter from The Pattaya News visited the scene on Walking Street in South Pattaya to investigate but found no trace of those involved. Attempts to gather information from nearby entertainment venue staff and motorcycle taxi drivers yielded no comments or details about the incident. The person who recorded the video has also not been reachable for further comment.
As of the latest update, Pattaya police have not received any official complaint regarding the altercation however have publicly invited the parties involved to come forward and speak to them and to file official police reports.
