Pattaya City Police Station, together with the Police Administration Monitoring Committee, organized a merit-making ceremony for the Songkran Festival, including the traditional Rod Nam Dam Hua water-pouring blessing ritual to seek good fortune and preserve Thai cultural heritage while boosting morale among officers.
On Friday, April 17th, 2026, Pattaya City Police Station joined forces with the Police Administration Monitoring Committee of the station to hold a Songkran merit-making activity and the auspicious water-pouring ceremony to pay respect to seniors, in line with beautiful Thai traditions.
The event was attended by Mr. Phongthasit Pichanan, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, along with Mr. Anusak Phiriyomorn, District Chief of Banglamung, Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, Ms. Amporn Kaewsaeng, Chairperson of the committee, Mr. Nathaphop Yom Jinda, Deputy District Chief of Banglamung, Mr. Anan Kingsorn, Honorary Advisor to the committee, committee members, local residents, and families of police officers.
The program began at 9:00 AM with a ritual offering to sacred spirits in front of the police station. Monks from Wat Chong Lom then chanted Buddhist prayers to bring blessings and auspiciousness. This was followed by the traditional Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony, in which scented water was gently poured over the hands of commanders and elders to seek their blessings according to longstanding Thai customs.
In addition, the activity included a friendly water-splashing session among police personnel, conducted in a polite and respectful manner. This helped strengthen relationships within the organization, build unity, love, and a warm working atmosphere.
The event not only served to preserve and continue Thai cultural traditions but also aimed to boost morale and motivation among police officers as they prepare for their important duties in ensuring safety and security for residents and tourists during the Songkran Festival and Pattaya Wan Lai celebrations, scheduled from April 17 to 19, 2026.
The Pattaya City Police Station stated that such activities help maintain good relations between the police and the community while reinforcing readiness to provide a safe and enjoyable festival experience for everyone.
