Thailand has reported a total of 1,108 accidents, resulting in 1,073 injuries and 216 fatalities over six days (April 10th – April 15th) of the Songkran Seven Days of Danger Road campaign which runs from April 10 to 16, 2026.
Provincial statistics show Phrae as the hardest-hit province, recording the highest number of accidents (47 cases) and injuries (49 people). Bangkok, meanwhile, reported the highest death toll with 19 fatalities.

On April 15th, 2026, the sixth day of the nationwide “Safe Driving, Reduce Speed, Prevent Accidents” initiative, authorities recorded 156 accidents, 161 injuries, and 23 fatalities.
Chiang Rai reported the highest number of accidents with 10, the highest number of injuries with 11, and the highest fatalities, with 3 deaths.
The leading causes were speeding (43.59%) and drunk driving (25.64%), with motorcycles involved in nearly 68% of cases. Most crashes occurred on straight roads (89.74%), particularly along highways (46.79%), and peaked between 6:01 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (17.95%). Young adults aged 20–29 years accounted for the largest share of casualties (24.46%).
