Sattahip, Chonburi– Local authorities and police in Sattahip successfully surrounded and negotiated with a 51-year-old Thai woman who allegedly stabbed a 54-year-old Polish man in the chest during a dispute while walking their dogs, leading to her voluntary surrender on the evening of April 10th, 2026.
The incident occurred around dusk on April 10th near Ban Khao Chi Chan School in Moo 11, Bang Saray. Mr. Michal Boleslaw Melniczuk, 54, a Polish national, was stabbed in the chest and suffered serious injuries. Emergency responders provided immediate first aid before rushing him to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital (Somdet Phra Nang Chao Sirikit Hospital under the Royal Thai Navy Medical Department). He has since been confirmed to be out of critical condition.
Later that night, at approximately 10:00 PM, Mr. Worarit Jangborworn, the kamnan (subdistrict head) of Bang Saray, along with district administrative officers from Sattahip, joined forces with Pol. Lt. Col. Sila Sa-chai, Deputy Inspector of Sattahip Police Station, and other officers to surround the suspect’s residence near the crime scene. After sustained negotiations and pressure, the woman emerged and surrendered. She was identified as Ms. Jindaporn, 51, and admitted to being the suspect but also claimed it was self defense.
In her initial statement to police, Ms. Jindaporn explained that she and her elderly foreign husband, approximately 70 years old, were out walking their dog as usual. The suspect and victim ran into each other inadvertently and the victim’s dog allegedly tried to bite theirs, sparking an argument. She claimed the Polish man then attempted to assault her elderly husband during the heated argument first, prompting her to use a knife she was carrying to defend herself and her spouse. The couple then returned home quickly before authorities arrived to take her into custody.
Authorities plan to take the suspect back to the scene to reconstruct the events in line with her confession. She will then be transferred to Sattahip Police Station for further interrogation and legal proceedings. They also planned to get a more complete statement from the victim when he recovers as his statements of the sequence of events reportedly differ from those of the suspect.
The case, which initially caused alarm in the community, has now seen the suspect in custody, with police continuing their investigation into the full circumstances of the altercation.
