A 37-year-old woman from Rayong was found dead after falling from a high-rise condominium in the Na Kluea area of Banglamung district, in a case that has left police investigating possible foul play, suicide, or accident.
The incident was reported at 10:36 p.m. on April 11th, 2026. Police Sub-Lieutenant Wongsathorn Morknan, deputy investigation officer at Banglamung Police Station, received notification of a person falling from height. He informed his superior, Police Colonel Sarawut Nuchnarart, superintendent of Banglamung Police Station, and rushed to the scene with investigation officers, rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya, and forensic experts from the Chonburi provincial forensics unit.
The body of Miss Chommai (surname withheld), aged 37, was discovered lying face down on the ground beside the 21-storey condominium building. She was wearing a long blue nightdress with no underwear underneath. The woman had abrasions on her body, believed to have occurred during the fall. Additionally, there were stab-like wounds from a sharp object on her right arm.
Police cordoned off the area to prevent unauthorized access.
Officers questioned Mr. Gabellini, a 65-year-old Italian national, who stated that he had entered his room on the 20th floor while the woman, described as an acquaintance, was still alive. He later learned of the fall and came down to identify the body, expressing shock. He firmly denied having sexual relations with her and claimed the woman had cut off contact with him three days earlier.
Residents of the condominium told police that the pair appeared close, with the Italian man staying on the 20th floor while the deceased lived on the 4th floor. Neighbors noted that the woman kept to herself but suffered from depression, though no one initially knew exactly from which floor she fell or the circumstances.
Forensic officers examined the body, including the wounds on the arm, to determine whether they resulted from impact from the fall. A key piece of evidence helped identify the floor of origin: A pair of flip-flops believed to belong to the victim was found on the 14th floor and was collected as evidence.
The body has been sent for autopsy to establish the exact cause of death. Police Sub-Lieutenant Wongsathorn has coordinated with the investigation team to review witness statements and available CCTV footage (which is limited in some areas) to determine whether the death was an accident, a homicide, or a suicide.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities gather more evidence to clarify the circumstances of this tragic incident.
