Pattaya, Chonburi– April 11th, 2026: A 36-year-old woman was rescued from the sea off Pattaya Beach in a dramatic early-morning incident after she reportedly became heavily intoxicated, walked into the water in a distressed state, and floated for a prolonged period, causing fears she might not survive.
At approximately 6:06 a.m. on April 11th, 2026, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Radio Center received a report of a missing person in the sea. The incident occurred at Pattaya Beach, directly opposite Royal Garden Plaza.
Rescue volunteers, along with Pattaya City Police, and a marine response team were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they spotted Ms. Sripan, 36, floating in the water some distance from shore. She was weakly clinging to a buoy rope, appearing exhausted and struggling to stay afloat.
On the beach, tourists and bystanders shouted encouragement for her to return to shore. A concerned good Samaritan, seeing the dangerous situation, quickly jumped on a jet ski, approached her, and safely pulled her aboard before bringing her back to land.
Ms. Sripan was heavily intoxicated, speaking incoherently, and was found to have a wound on her left wrist. Rescue personnel provided initial first aid at the scene.
The good Samaritan, Mr. Tony, 39, who operates a jet ski rental business, told authorities he was alerted by a beach vendor who noticed the woman entering the water and feared for her safety. He immediately rode out when he heard and found her floating while holding onto the buoy line, then assisted her back to shore without delay.
Another witness, Ms. Khaofang, 33, said she had seen the woman staggering along the beach around 4:30 a.m. The woman then placed down her bag, removed her shoes, and walked into the sea. After she remained in the water for an unusually long time, Ms. Khaofang became worried and alerted the jet ski operator and rescue officials.
Police coordinated with Ms. Sripan’s family, and her younger sister arrived to take her home for further care. Onlookers expressed relief that the incident ended safely, with many commenting that she was extremely fortunate to have been rescued before any serious harm occurred.
Authorities have not yet determined the full circumstances leading to the event, but the woman appeared to be in a state of emotional distress combined with heavy alcohol consumption. No further injuries were reported beyond the wrist wound and exhaustion.
The quick actions of the good Samaritan and rescue teams prevented what could have been a tragic outcome in the popular tourist area.
