Reported behaviors include the use of other people’s ID cards, refusing a salary while only accepting drink commissions, as well as being accompanied by someone who builds familiarity before bringing them into the venue. These situations may cause establishments to unknowingly become targets of serious legal cases.
Operators are strongly advised to tighten age and identity verification procedures for all staff, with the following preventive measures:
- Always check original ID cards before hiring.
- Use facial recognition systems (Thai ID) or official applications to verify identity.
- Request additional documents such as a birth certificate or passport if there is any doubt.
