Pattaya, Chonburi

On April 9th, 2026, at approximately 3:36 AM, senior officers from the Provincial Police Region 2 Investigation Division, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Kiattisak Sarathong-oi, Commander of the Investigation Division, Region 2, along with Pol. Col. Anek Sarathong-yu, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, and other investigators, raided a KTV venue located near the Phenyat Chang Intersection in the Nong Prue sub-district.

The operation resulted in the detention of 34 individuals: 19 men and 15 women, including 17 staff members. The majority of those detained were Chinese nationals.

The raid was ordered after Pol. Lt. Gen. Kiattisak received a tip-off from a concerned citizen that groups of foreigners, predominantly Chinese men and women, were allegedly gathering at the venue to use illegal drugs. He immediately instructed a joint team of Region 2 investigators and Pattaya police to conduct an urgent inspection.

Upon arrival, officers found the establishment to be a large, luxurious commercial building operating as a high-end 5-star KTV with tight security measures, including hidden CCTV cameras concealed in bushes for surveillance, keycard entry systems, and multiple security guards at the front door.

Officers had to call out several times before the security guards opened the door after about five minutes. Inside, chaos ensued as Chinese tourists attempted to flee and hide in various rooms. It took police more than two hours to secure the situation and detain all 34 individuals.

No illegal substances were found during the initial search of the premises. All detainees were taken for urine drug testing, with results still pending.

Authorities plan to file charges against the venue if anyone tests positive for illegal drugs and proceed with legal action according to due process.

This operation reflects ongoing efforts by Pattaya and regional police to suppress drug-related activities in entertainment venues, particularly those frequented by foreign tourists.
