Pattaya Mayor Wraps Up 4th “Pattaya Senior School: Creating Happiness” Program, Awards Certificates to 96 Elderly Participants

Pattaya, April 8th, 2026 – Mr. Poramese Ngamphichet, Mayor of Pattaya City, presented the closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the 4th batch of the “Pattaya Senior School: Creating Happiness” project, an integrated health promotion program for senior citizens. The event took place at 10:30 a.m. at the Le Bali Resort & Spa in Pattaya.

Joining the mayor were Mr. Wuttisak Roemkitchart, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, along with assistant secretaries to the mayor, the Pattaya City Council chairman, vice chairman, council members, and the council secretary. Mr. Theerasak Jatupong, Deputy City Clerk, delivered the project report. Heads of relevant government agencies and officials also attended the ceremony.

The program was organized by the Public Health and Environment Office, Health Promotion Section of Pattaya City. The 4th batch of “Pattaya Senior School: Creating Happiness” ran for approximately five months, with training held once a week every Tuesday from October 30th, 2025, to March 31st, 2026.

The project was to support personal development and promote learning for seniors in the areas of physical health, mental well-being, social engagement, and intellectual growth. It received cooperation from Mahidol University, various academic institutions, government agencies, private sector partners, and local experts who served as lecturers.

This year, 96 senior citizens participated in the program. Among them, 16 outstanding students were recognized for perfect attendance and strong commitment, 57 participants achieved at least 80% attendance, and 23 had attendance below 80%.

Throughout the program, participants showed excellent cooperation in all activities. The project successfully built a joyful senior community, creating genuine friendships and a true “society of good friends” among the elderly.

In his closing remarks, Mayor Beer (his nickname) stated: “This training program is highly beneficial and helps prepare our population for a high-quality senior life. It aligns with Pattaya’s ‘Better Pattaya’ policy, which focuses on developing quality of life for the elderly, turning them into ‘Smart Seniors’ and establishing Pattaya as a model city for senior care.

We place great importance on promoting seniors’ health in physical, mental, social, and intellectual aspects. Pattaya is committed to driving forward the ‘Suksa Center’ (Center for Creating Happiness) as a central hub for seniors and other age groups to gather for activities. The center encourages physical and emotional development, productive use of free time, and the exchange of wisdom and skills among seniors, allowing them to become role models for the community.”

The event was reported by Miss Kwanjai Suetrong and photographed by Mr. Somprasong Phochanphan from the Public Relations Section, Tourism and Sports Office, Pattaya City.
