Pattaya, April 8th, 2026 – Mr. Poramese Ngampichets, or Beer as his nickname, Mayor of Pattaya City, led the opening ceremony of the “Occupational Promotion Project for Quality of Life Development, Fiscal Year 2026” at 9:00 AM today. The event was held at the Phiman Meeting Room at the Grand Palazzo Hotel in Pattaya.
Joining the mayor were Mr. Kamon Yeunyongwattana, Chief Judge of Chanthaburi Provincial Court, currently serving temporarily as Chief Judge of Pattaya Municipal Court; Mr. Damrongkiat Pinitchakan, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya; the mayor’s assistant secretary; Pattaya City Council members; the secretary to the council president; and heads of relevant government agencies. Ms. Panrada Atthohi, Deputy City Clerk of Pattaya, delivered the project report.

The project was organized by the Community Development and Occupational Promotion Section of Pattaya City’s Social Welfare Office. Its main objectives are to upgrade residents’ knowledge and skills in occupational cost management, promote household financial discipline and good governance, encourage effective personal financial planning, and develop teamwork with financial institutions and government agencies. The program wants to provide fair and proper access to formal credit sources, ultimately helping residents escape informal debt traps and build a strong, sustainable community economy.
Key activities included a lecture on “Techniques for Preparing Household and Cost Accounting for Formal Loan Applications,” delivered by experts from the Chonburi Cooperative Auditing Office. Participants received practical knowledge on systematic income and expenditure management, which serves as a crucial foundation for accessing formal financial services.

A feature of the event was the inspirational talk titled “Using Mindfulness to Overcome Debt and Adjust Mindset for a Happier Livelihood,” presented by renowned motivational speaker “Ajarn Beer Khon Teun Tham” (Teacher Beer, the Awakened One). The session combined valuable insights with humor and engaging delivery, helping attendees shift their perspectives on debt management and find greater happiness in their careers and daily lives.
Additionally, information booths were set up by partner agencies and financial institutions to provide consultations and details on available welfare programs and suitable funding sources tailored to residents’ needs.
In his opening address, Mayor Beer explained Pattaya City’s concern for the well-being of its citizens, particularly amid current economic challenges where financial stability forms the foundation of a secure life. He stated that developing skills in cost management and maintaining strong financial discipline will serve as vital protection, enabling people to become more self-reliant, reduce debt burdens, and achieve a sustainably better quality of life.
The mayor expressed hope that all participants would apply the knowledge gained from the project to improve their personal lives and occupations, thereby strengthening their families and contributing to a more resilient Pattaya community.
