Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality, Chonburi Province– On April 1st, 2026, at 9:09 AM, the Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality organized a Buddha bathing ceremony in front of the municipality office in Chonburi Province. The event was held to honor the Songkran Festival, preserve Thailand’s cherished cultural traditions, and bring auspiciousness, peace, and prosperity to all municipal personnel as they welcome the Thai New Year.
Mr. Mitchai Prakobtham, Mayor of Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality, led the ceremony. He led executives, officials, and municipal staff in the ritual in a warm and simple atmosphere.
The event received full cooperation from all sectors of the municipality’s personnel, including Mr. Narongrit Prasitnak, Permanent Secretary of Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality; Ms. Siriwan Anantpreechasri and Ms. Thidapich Thitipanwat, Deputy Permanent Secretaries; along with deputy mayors, the mayor’s secretary, heads of departments, and municipal staff. All participants joined harmoniously in the Buddha bathing rite.
The activity was arranged to mark the Songkran Festival, which is traditionally celebrated as the Thai New Year. It holds deep significance in Thai people’s way of life and culture. Bathing the Buddha statue is not only an expression of faith and respect, but also a way to bring good fortune to individuals, families, and the organization. Additionally, it serves to instill awareness among staff of the value of Thai traditions and to encourage the collective preservation of these cultural practices for future generations.
