Chonburi, Thailand – The owner of a packaging factory in Ban Bueng district has turned to the media for help after a gang of thieves stole over 10 million baht worth of imported electrical cables, severely delaying the plant’s opening.
CCTV footage from PC Corrugated Paper and Packaging Co., Ltd., located at 72/2 Moo 1, Nong Irun Subdistrict, Ban Bueng District, Chonburi, clearly captured a group of nine men breaking into the facility on multiple consecutive nights. The thieves were seen cutting and dragging away large quantities of high-value imported power cables before escaping through the rear of the factory.
The company was in the final stages of preparation to begin production when the thefts occurred. The stolen cables, which are significantly more expensive than locally produced equivalents, have left the factory unable to commence operations.
The factory owner, Mr. Phisit Sunthornkamphonrat, 43, filed a police complaint at Ban Bueng Police Station on March 26th, submitting the clear CCTV evidence. However, despite the strong visual proof, authorities have made little visible progress in tracking down the suspects.
Speaking to the media on March 31st, 2026, a visibly frustrated Mr. Phisit said the theft has caused him financial and operational hardship. He appealed for public assistance in identifying the culprits.
“I am in a lot of trouble. We were ready to start production, but these thieves have forced us to postpone everything,” he said. “Even though we have clear footage of the suspects, the case has not advanced. I’m asking the media to help publicize this so we can catch them.”
Mr. Phisit has offered a reward of 50,000 baht for information leading to the arrest of the gang members.
Local police have also been requested to comment on the status of the investigation and information on the suspects can be given to the Ban Bueng Police Station.
