Pattaya, Thailand – A Thai motorcyclist sustained facial lacerations and abrasions to his body after he slammed his motorcycle into the rear of a sedan that had run out of fuel and pulled over on the Pattaya-bound lane of the motorway on Sunday night, March 29th, 2026.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:00 PM on the inbound motorway towards Pattaya, at kilometer marker 5 + 300. Rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to the scene after receiving reports of the collision.
Upon arrival, officials found a motorcycle had rear-ended a passenger car. The rider of the motorcycle, a Thai man, suffered torn wounds on his face and abrasions across his body. Rescue personnel provided initial first aid before transporting him to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

The rear of the sedan was heavily damaged, with dents and broken taillights. No injuries were reported from the car’s occupants.
According to the driver of the sedan, he was heading towards Pattaya when his vehicle ran out of fuel. He pulled over to the side of the road and was about to call for assistance to fetch more fuel when the motorcycle, approaching from behind at high speed, collided forcefully into the rear of his car. The driver stated he only became aware of the motorcycle at the moment of impact.

It is worth noting that motorcycles are technically prohibited from using the motorway under Thai traffic regulations. Authorities remind all road users to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits and lane restrictions, especially in low-visibility or emergency situations.
Highway Police from the Khao Khiao station visited the scene to inspect the wreckage, document evidence, and compile a case file. Both vehicles were impounded for further investigation.
