Pattaya Tourist Police are urgently investigating after a 55-year-old Australian tourist sustained multiple head injuries inside an entertainment venue on Walking Street late on Monday night.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on March 23rd, 2026, officers from the Pattaya Tourist Police, who were on duty providing security for visitors in the Walking Street area, received a report of a tourist allegedly being assaulted inside a bar in the southern section of Walking Street.
Upon arrival, police found the entrance to the establishment, which focuses on Russian girls and man shows according to signage outside, blocked by security guards who initially refused to allow officers inside, forcing them to shout for the door to be opened. The injured man was identified as Mr. Scott, 55, an Australian national. He had several lacerations on his head, including a deep wound on his forehead, with significant bleeding.
Officers provided first aid at the scene before rushing him to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for urgent treatment.
According to staff accounts, Mr. Scott had entered the venue with his adult son and was drinking alcohol. He reportedly became intoxicated and began causing a disturbance. Staff asked him to leave, but he refused, leading to an argument.
Security personnel were then called to assist and presented a bill of 1,070 baht. When Mr. Scott allegedly refused to pay and resisted being escorted out, a further debate ensued. Staff claimed that Scott reportedly fell by accident and struck his head on glass, causing the injuries.
However, police noted that the nature of the wounds, multiple lacerations, appeared inconsistent with a simple fall, raising suspicions of possible assault. Scott was intoxicated and did not give a full statement as he needed medical treatment but appeared to disagree with the venue’s explanation that he simply “fell”.
Officers requested access to the venue’s CCTV footage, but the establishment claimed they were unable to provide it immediately due to technical issues. The manager and security staff have been invited to Pattaya City Police Station for further questioning. Authorities are also awaiting a statement from the victim once he is sober and recovers from his medical treatment. The name of the venue was withheld by police pending further investigation, other than police noting it was primarily a Russian girl themed establishment.
The incident is under active investigation. If evidence confirms an assault on the tourist, legal action will be taken against those involved.
Pattaya authorities have also stressed the importance of maintaining safety for international visitors in the popular nightlife area.
