At approximately 4:30 a.m. on March 21st, 2026, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya City received an emergency report of a foreign national being attacked and injured by a group of men. The incident occurred near the entrance of a hotel on South Pattaya Road Soi 2 before the victim fled to seek help from local residents at another close hotel.

Police from Pattaya City Police Station and rescue volunteers responded quickly to the scene. They found the victim, identified as Mr. Kanasashi, a 26-year-old Japanese national, suffering from visible bruises, cuts, and other injuries across his body consistent with a group beating. First aid was administered on-site, after which he was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical treatment.

According to statements from good Samaritans at the scene, the Japanese man ran toward them in a dazed and intoxicated state, seeking assistance after being chased and attacked. Witnesses reported that the assault began near the entrance to Marine Soi connecting to Walking Street, where the group, suspected to be mobile app taxi riders, reportedly set upon him. The victim attempted to flee but stumbled and fell in front of a hotel before continuing to run for help.

CCTV footage reviewed by authorities shows the chilling sequence: the Japanese man fleeing desperately as the group pursues him on foot and by motorcycle. One rider is even seen apparently accelerating to ram into the victim with a motorbike, causing him to fall, followed by the assailants dismounting to continue the physical assault before fleeing the area.

Police have secured the video evidence and are awaiting the victim’s recovery so he can provide a formal statement and identify the suspects. Investigations are underway to locate and apprehend the suspects for charges including assault causing bodily harm, with further legal action to follow under Thai law.

This case remains under active investigation, and updates will be provided as more details emerge.
