Pattaya Launches Youth-Focused Anti-Drug Campaign with Sports and Creative Competitions

Pattaya, Thailand – (March 19th, 2026) – Pattaya City has kicked off an anti-drug awareness campaign designed at empowering young people to stay away from narcotics by channeling their free time into positive, creative, and healthy activities.

At 5:00 p.m. on March 19th, 2026, Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat presided over the opening ceremony of the 2026 Anti-Drug Campaign at the Pattaya City Youth Center Sports Field. The event drew enthusiastic participation from Pattaya City Council members, Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization representatives, and deputy city clerks, who joined local youth in a warm and supportive atmosphere to promote drug prevention.

Organized by the Youth Activities Division under the Pattaya City Education Bureau, the campaign runs from March 19th to April 3rd, 2026, with activities held every Thursday and Friday starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Youth Center sports field.

The program’s primary goals are to build resilience against drug use among children and youth, encourage constructive use of leisure time, and build their courage to express themselves positively and creatively. By providing safe, engaging platforms, the initiative seeks to reduce societal risk factors, strengthen community awareness, and cultivate a lasting drug-free mindset among young residents.

The campaign features three main competitive categories designed to showcase talent and promote anti-drug messages:

– A 4-a-side football tournament titled “Pattaya Junior Open 2026”
– An anti-drug music contest
– An anti-drug cover dance competition

These ongoing events throughout the campaign period offer youth a dedicated space to demonstrate their abilities, steer clear of harmful influences, and build positive habits.

The launch aligns with broader national efforts to combat drug abuse, particularly among younger generations, by focusing on proactive education, recreation, and community involvement rather than solely enforcement measures.

Pattaya City officials have invited families, schools, and local organizations to support and participate in the activities, reinforcing a united front in creating a safer, healthier environment for the city’s youth.
