Pattaya, Chonburi – March 20th, 2026– In the early hours of Friday morning, a heated confrontation happened in the heart of Pattaya’s nightlife district when more than 30 transgender women gathered to reportedly settle a long-standing feud over a missing mobile phone, drawing a large crowd of curious tourists who watched and even cheered amid the tension.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the entrance to Walking Street in South Pattaya, when motorcycle taxi drivers alerted local media and authorities to a large group of agitated transgender women assembling at the parking area by the beachside entrance. The women, all belonging to the local transgender community, had reportedly arranged to meet face-to-face to resolve their ongoing conflict stemming from accusations of one party taking another’s phone.
Upon arrival at the scene, reporters observed a large crowd of Thai and foreign tourists gathered around, many recording the event on their phones. The two opposing sides stood confronting each other in a highly charged atmosphere, engaging in tense negotiations. The dispute reportedly originated from mutual accusations of theft involving mobile phones, which had previously escalated into a physical altercation.
According to reports, the initial clash took place on the night of March 19th at approximately 4:00 a.m. in front of a major shopping mall along Pattaya Beach Road. Video footage that circulated widely online showed the women exchanging slaps, punches, and physical blows, with some tourists attempting to intervene and getting caught in the scuffle. Pattaya City Police eventually arrived to break up the fight and took involved parties to Pattaya City Police Station. However, the underlying issues remained unresolved, causing the group to schedule this second meeting to “clear the air.”
The atmosphere around the confrontation was intense and chaotic. Some tourists shouted encouragement and cheered, while music blared from nearby speakers, adding to the surreal and volatile energy. Verbal arguments quickly escalated into minor physical scuffles, though bystanders repeatedly stepped in to separate the parties and prevent further violence.
Witnesses at the scene described the gathering as an attempt to resolve the previous night’s phone-related argument, which had led to shouting and unresolved accusations. “They came to talk it out, but things got heated again and turned into what you see,” one local said to The Pattaya News team. “We had to step in and pull them apart before it got worse.”
Fortunately, the situation did not spiral into a large-scale brawl. After several tense minutes, the groups eventually dispersed peacefully with no reports of serious injuries. However, the public spectacle caused significant alarm among tourists and locals alike, with many expressing concern over the disruption in one of Pattaya’s most popular nightlife areas.
Residents and business operators in the vicinity have called on authorities to step up monitoring and enforcement in the area to prevent similar incidents from recurring, especially during peak tourist hours.
