A violent incident captured on video in the early hours of March 7th, 2026, has sparked widespread outrage online, with a group of Thai individuals, including several transgender women and what appeared to be security personnel, allegedly assaulting foreign tourists on Pattaya’s famous Walking Street.

According to a Facebook post by a user named “stang stang,” who shared a 3-minute-12-second clip of the altercation, the attack occurred around 5:00 a.m. in South Pattaya’s Walking Street area. The poster strongly condemned the behavior, writing in Thai (roughly translated): “Thais are terrible, ganging up and beating him severely. He didn’t do anything to deserve it; they just attacked him while he was drunk. He got hit and fought back, it’s ridiculous.”

The footage shows a man appearing to be of Middle Eastern descent, wearing a white shirt, being kicked in the face and chin, causing him to fall to the ground. A woman, also seemingly of Middle Eastern origin and dressed in a black spaghetti-strap top, attempts to intervene and protect the man, leading to further chaos. Motorbike taxi drivers (win motorcycle taxis) reportedly stepped in to separate the parties, shouting “Enough! Enough!”

However, the situation escalated again when the foreign couple reportedly began arguing among themselves. Bystanders and tourists tried to intervene and pull them apart. The clip then depicts a group of approximately 4-5 transgender women rushing in and allegedly assaulting the foreign woman, leaving her visibly battered and injured. After the attack, the assailants reportedly dispersed in different directions, with some seen laughing and smiling as if unbothered by the incident.

Additional footage circulating online reportedly shows individuals resembling security guards (“การ์ด”) from nearby entertainment venues joining in to kick and stomp the tourists. The original poster and others spoke about the suspects casual demeanor post-assault as particularly disturbing.

Reporters from local media visited the scene during daylight hours on March 7th, but entertainment venues were closed, and area residents were unaware of the overnight event. Attempts to contact the clip’s poster for further details were unsuccessful.

The video has been widely shared across multiple popular pages and social media platforms, drawing heavy criticism for the inappropriate and aggressive behavior, which many say damages Thailand’s tourism image, especially in a renowned nightlife destination like Pattaya.

Police from Mueang Pattaya Police Station confirmed they are investigating the incident and gathering information. As of the latest reports, the foreign couple involved has not come forward to file a formal complaint.

Authorities have urged anyone with additional evidence or information to contact local police, as such incidents can undermine visitor safety and the reputation of Pattaya’s nightlife scene.
