Pattaya, February 26, 2026 – Officers from the Pattaya Immigration Police conducted a midnight raid on a location in central Pattaya, apprehending four Chinese nationals who were allegedly operating an illegal mahjong gambling session.
The operation took place around 1:00 a.m. on February 26th, 2026, when immigration officers, acting on intelligence reports of unauthorized gambling activities, inspected premises on Pattaya Second Road.

At the scene, authorities discovered four Chinese men intensely engaged in a game of mahjong around a table. Officers immediately identified themselves and arrested the group without resistance. Seized evidence included one mahjong table, a complete set of mahjong tiles, and gambling chips used in place of cash.
The four suspects, along with the confiscated items, were taken into custody and transferred to investigators at Pattaya Police Station for further legal proceedings under Thai gambling and related laws.

Immigration officials have not yet released the names of the arrested individuals or provided in-depth details about the case to the media. Authorities indicated that additional information would be forthcoming after reporting to superiors and completing initial procedures. Thailand has some of the strictest anti-gambling laws in the world, banning even private games of gambling, notes The Pattaya News.
