Pattaya, Chonburi – February 25th, 2026 – Authorities in Banglamung district are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains scattered across a young coconut plantation, following a report from a 23-year-old Laotian worker who claims a ghostly woman appeared in his dream the night before, complaining of hunger.
At approximately 10:20 a.m., Pol. Lt. Col. Manot Thipwet, Deputy Inspector of Bang Lamung Police Station, received a notification about human bone fragments found in a coconut grove along the Ban Na Wang – Pong Saket Road, near Khao Song Phi Nong in Moo 5.
Police, along with investigators, forensic officers from the Region 2 Forensic Science Office in Chonburi, a doctor from Pattaya Pathumkhun Hospital, and rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation Pattaya branch, rushed to the scene.
In the plantation area, which is being developed with newly planted coconut trees, officers located scattered human bone fragments, including one skull, two upper arm sections, one pelvic bone, and several smaller pieces. The remains were spread 40-50 meters apart. Preliminary estimates suggest the individual had been deceased for at least 2-3 months.
A search within a 100-200 meter radius yielded no additional major bones. However, about 10 meters from the skull, police found a bag containing 6-7 pieces of women’s clothing. It remains unclear whether the clothing is connected to the remains.
The discoverer, Mr. Jamkat, 23, a Laotian national working in the coconut grove, told police he had come to water the new trees in the morning when he spotted what he initially thought was a fake human skull. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was real and immediately alerted his employer.
Mr. Jamkat told The Pattaya News about a disturbing experience from the previous night: In his dream, a woman dressed in white with a bob haircut approached him, saying, “I’m hungry, please give me some rice.” She added that she was 26 years old and expressed her extreme hunger. In the dream, he tried to find food for her. Upon waking and heading to work, he discovered the skull, leading him to believe the spirit had visited him to guide him to the remains.
Nearby residents added to the eerie atmosphere. One homeowner, whose property is just 3 meters from where an arm bone was found, said stray dogs had been gnawing on the bone for several days, but no one suspected it was human until the skull was reported. The homeowner admitted to being shocked, noting no unusual smells or signs of a body previously. However, the night before the discovery, stray dogs in the area howled unusually loudly throughout the night, which local residents said was a sign of spirits.
Police collected all recovered bone fragments and sent them to the Institute of Forensic Science at the Police General Hospital for detailed examination, including identification and determination of the cause of death. Initial observations indicate the skull is small, consistent with that of an adult female.
Investigators suspect the scattering of the bones was caused by stray dogs, as the area is home to many such animals. Efforts continue to locate any remaining remains, with coordination between investigative teams and local authorities.
The case has sparked local interest due to the worker’s account of the premonitory dream, adding a supernatural element to what appears to be a long-undiscovered death in the quiet rural area near Pattaya. Police are treating the matter as suspicious pending forensic results.
