Dramatic CCTV footage has captured the moment a high-speed motorcyclist overtook a pickup truck on the left, resulting in a collision that sent the rider crashing into a wall and sustaining serious injuries.

The accident occurred yesterday at approximately 3:45 p.m. in front of a tire shop on Highway 9 Kilometer Road (Road No. 7).

According to rescue personnel from the Sawang Prateep Sri Racha Foundation, they received a report of a motorcycle colliding with a pickup truck, leaving one person seriously injured. Emergency responders from Laem Chabang Advanced Life Support and Sri Racha Police Station were dispatched to the scene.

At the location, authorities found a black Isuzu Highlander pickup truck, parked along the roadside with visible scratch marks and long scrape damage above the front left wheel arch. The driver, referred to as “Mr. Dew” (pseudonym), was unharmed.

Nearby, the injured motorcyclist, a middle-aged man, lay unconscious on the ground. He had suffered a large head wound, abrasions across his body, and a suspected broken right ring finger. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before urgently transporting him to Laem Chabang Hospital for further treatment.

The pickup truck driver told police that he had been driving along the road intending to change tires at the shop. Upon arrival, he slowed down, activated his left turn signal, and checked his rearview mirrors but saw no approaching vehicles. Suddenly, a motorcycle approached at high speed from behind, overtook on the left, sideswiped the front left of his truck, lost control, struck a decorative flagpole in front of the shop, slid across the road, and slammed into a nearby house wall.

CCTV footage from the area confirmed the sequence of events: The pickup truck was already slowing and preparing to turn left into the tire shop when the motorcyclist, traveling at high speed behind it, attempted to overtake on the left side. The bike clipped the truck’s front left, causing the rider to lose control, hit the flagpole, and collide forcefully with the wall, resulting in severe injuries.

Police from Sri Racha Police Station inspected the scene and gathered evidence, including the CCTV recording. The injured rider was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the pickup truck driver was summoned to the station for further questioning.
