A 51-year-old food delivery rider is appealing for public help after his only means of livelihood, a Honda Wave 100 motorcycle, was stolen in broad daylight while he briefly stepped away to collect an order.
Mr. Marut Jaeng-uam (or Jaeng Aum), a resident working as a delivery rider reported the theft occurred around 6:40 a.m. today in front of a fresh market in Moo 8.
According to Mr. Marut, he parked his black-grey Honda Wave 100 motorcycle (license plate 3 กผ 6340 Chonburi) outside the market to pick up his first order of the day: grilled fish and barbecued pork. He left the keys in the ignition as he quickly went inside to collect the items. When he returned moments later, the motorcycle, complete with its delivery box attached, was gone.
Shocked and desperate, Mr. Marut immediately requested footage from the market’s CCTV cameras. The video clearly shows the suspect: a slim, medium-to-tall man wearing a green shirt and long pants. The thief is seen lingering and circling the area near the parked bike before approaching, mounting it, and riding away toward central Sri Racha. He escaped without interference and remains at large.
Mr. Marut took the CCTV evidence to Sri Racha Police Station to file a formal complaint.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Marut expressed deep distress over the incident. “This motorcycle is my only source of income. I have no other job, I rely entirely on delivering food to support my family,” he said. “I’m in serious trouble now. The bike is still under finance with 20,000 baht remaining, and I have monthly payments to make. On top of that, my work phone is also on installment, plus rent, food, and daily living expenses. I live hand-to-mouth, earning day by day, and now I don’t know how to continue.”
He added that the loss has left him feeling heartbroken and uncertain about his future. Mr. Marut is urging anyone with information about the suspect, the motorcycle, or related sightings to contact Sri Racha Police Station immediately.
In a poignant note, he shared that if authorities successfully apprehend the thief and recover his vehicle, he plans to ordain as a Buddhist monk for three months as an act of merit and gratitude.
