36-Year-Old Thai Man Dies After Crashing Into Tour Bus in North Pattaya, Rider Was Reportedly Trying to Avoid Sudden Jaywalker

Pattaya-

A motorcycle accident in Pattaya claimed the life of a 36-year-old man after he swerved to avoid a woman exhibiting erratic behavior on the road, only to lose control and collide with an oncoming tourist bus.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on February 18th, 2026, on the Pattaya–Na Kluea Road in front of Muang Pattaya 9 School.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Chiwaphat Chaiakan, Deputy Investigator at Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a tourist bus colliding with a motorcycle, resulting in a seriously injured rider. Officers notified superiors and coordinated with volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Foundation and medical teams to rush to the scene.

At the location, authorities found a white-and-green Honda Dream motorcycle, overturned in the middle of the road. The front of the bike was severely damaged, with debris scattered across the roadway.

Lying nearby was the rider, Mr. Worakorn Bandasak, 36, who was unconscious and unresponsive. Rescue personnel and medics performed CPR to sustain his life before urgently transporting him to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

The other vehicle involved was a white Sunlong tourist bus, Bangkok license plate 32-8123. It had come to a stop with damage to the right front bumper and a shattered headlight, showing clear signs of impact. The 63-year-old driver, Mr. Sangwian Rakkhao, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

According to Mr. Sangwian’s account, he was driving toward Na Kluea to drop off tourists when he encountered the motorcycle heading in the opposite direction into Pattaya. At the same moment, a woman, described as appearing to have mental health issues or impaired judgment, suddenly ran into the middle of the road, seemingly attempting to cross or retrieve something.

Startled, the motorcyclist swerved sharply to avoid her, lost control, sideswiped or struck the woman (details of her condition were not immediately reported), and then veered across lanes before slamming into the front of the bus with significant force. This resulted in the rider’s fatal injuries.

Police documented the scene, collected evidence, and gathered witness statements. They are also reviewing nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident and ensure fairness for all parties involved.
