Sri Racha, Chonburi Province– A major multi-vehicle collision occurred in the early hours of February 19th, 2026, on Sukhumvit Road in the direction towards Pattaya, resulting in three fatalities and 16 injuries.
The accident took place around 5:00 a.m. near the curve before the Ban Na Bridge in the Thung Sukhla sub-district. Rescue teams from the Sawang Prateep Sri Racha Foundation received the report and immediately coordinated with emergency medical services from Laem Chabang Hospital, Samitivej Hospital, and Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, along with officers from Laem Chabang Police Station.

At the scene, authorities found three heavily damaged vehicles: two passenger vans and one white Ford Everest SUV with Chonburi registration plates. The Ford Everest had sustained severe front-left damage and came to rest in the far-right lane, with one male body found deceased underneath the vehicle.
One passenger van, a white Toyota with Bangkok registration plate ฮษ 1552, was overturned and severely mangled in the middle lane. Another van, with Bangkok registration plate ฮภ2203, was also flipped and wrecked, trapping several injured passengers inside. Rescue workers used hydraulic cutting tools to extricate the victims, providing initial first aid before transporting them to nearby hospitals.

In total, 16 people were injured, while three others, two men and one woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Among the deceased were the drivers and front-seat passengers of the vans, some of whom were ejected from the vehicles upon impact.
According to statements from survivors, including a passenger in the Ford Everest heading toward Pattaya, the chain of events began when one passenger van lost control, likely due to skidding on the curve, and veered across the median into oncoming traffic. It slammed head-on into another passenger van traveling in the same direction, causing both to spin out and flip. The wreckage blocked the road, and the following Ford Everest then collided with one of the vans.

Police documented the scene with photographs and evidence collection. The bodies of the deceased were transferred to Laem Chabang Hospital for autopsies, while the injured were sent to local medical facilities for treatment. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause, including potential factors such as speed, road conditions, or driver error, and will proceed with legal action accordingly.
The accident caused significant traffic disruption on the busy Sukhumvit Road corridor during the early morning rush. Officials urged drivers to exercise caution, especially on curved sections, to prevent similar tragedies.
