Pattaya, Chonburi – February 13th, 2026
Authorities from Thailand’s Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) Region 2, along with forensic police, immigration officers, and tourist police, conducted an inspection at a luxury residence in the Banglamung area on Friday evening, confirming that equipment and chemicals discovered earlier are likely precursors for producing illicit drugs, including “Happy Water” and “Pod K” vape liquids laced with narcotics.
The raid stems from an initial incident where officers from Banglamung Police Station and Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict Municipality attempted to inspect the property due to reports of chemical waste being discharged into a nearby stream. During the visit, two Chinese nationals attempted to flee. One, later identified as Mr. Xu Yunlong, 42, fell while climbing a wall to escape, fracturing his leg, while the other, Mr. Xu Tianking, 32, was also apprehended.

Inside the home, officers discovered three chemical production stations and seized a large quantity of chemicals. Three 30-liter plastic drums containing what appeared to be finished products were also recovered, though their exact contents await further analysis.
At approximately 7:00 PM on February 13th, 2026, Mr. Suradej Latehsan, Director of the ONCB Region 2 Law Enforcement Division, led a joint team including forensic experts from Region 2 Chonburi to test the substances. Using field test kits and narcotic detection plates, preliminary results on six chemical types indicated the presence of three controlled narcotics:
– **Methamphetamine** (Category 1 narcotic),
– **Ketamine** (Category 2 narcotic, also known as “K”),
– **MDMA** (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy or “E”).

Officials suspect the setup was used to produce precursors for “Pod K” (น้ำยาพอตเค or ketamine-laced e-cigarette vape liquids) and “Happy Water” (แฮปปี้ วอเตอร์), a dangerous synthetic drug cocktail that has surged in popularity among affluent Chinese partygoers and nightlife circles in Thailand. Happy Water typically involves mixtures of ketamine, methamphetamine, MDMA, and other substances dissolved in liquid form, while Pod K refers to vape pods infused with ketamine or similar drugs for discreet consumption.
While the preliminary tests strongly suggest involvement in precursor production for these drugs, authorities stated that samples will undergo detailed forensic laboratory examination to definitively identify the substances and confirm their role in illicit manufacturing.

Banglamung Police are preparing charges against Mr. Xu Yunlong and Mr. Xu Tianking for unauthorized production and possession of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) and Category 2 narcotics (ketamine). Both men claimed they were merely house-sitters who had recently arrived and were being paid 40,000 baht per month. They stated the actual chemist was an elderly man of unknown nationality who communicated only via a translation app. The suspects insisted they were unaware of any drug-related activities.
Mr. Xu Yunlong was taken to Pattaya Padthomakun Hospital for treatment of his leg fracture (confirmed by X-ray as a break but not requiring extended admission) and later returned to the scene for further questioning.
Immigration records show Mr. Xu Yunlong entered Thailand on February 11, 2026, and Mr. Xu Tianking on February 8, 2026, both on tourist visas.

Police from Banglamung Station and forensic teams documented the scene, collected evidence for scientific analysis, and had the suspects point out key areas in the property to build the case file. Investigations continue to trace the origin of the chemicals, potential distribution networks, and any accomplices involved in production or supply.
