Pattaya, Thailand – The Chonburi Tourism Federation Association, together with Pattaya City, is preparing to launch the Pattaya Recycle Art Festival, themed “Art for Sustainable Tourism.” The event wants to transform recycled materials into striking sculptures, creating new iconic landmarks along Pattaya Beach’s seaside promenade.
On February 4th, 2026, a planning meeting was held at Pattaya City Hall conference room. Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, Mr. Damrongkiat Phinitkan, chaired the discussion. Attendees included Mr. Thanes Supharosahasrangsi, President of the Chonburi Tourism Federation Association; Ms. Morakot Kuladilok, President of the Thai Hotels Association Eastern Chapter; Ms. Thitiphas Sirinatsakul, President of the Chonburi Tourist Attractions Association; and representatives from relevant agencies.
The festival, under the core theme “Turning Waste Value”, will convey messages of sustainability through symbolic and memorable art installations. Five eye-catching recycled-material sculptures will be installed as photography hotspots and permanent landmarks along the Pattaya Beach walkway, promoting eco-friendly tourism.
The event opens a wide competition platform, inviting professional artists, universities, educational institutions, and interested businesses to submit designs for iconic recycled sculptures, each approximately 3×3 meters in size. The initial phase will produce five pieces.
Submissions will be accepted in advance over a two-month period leading up to the event. The top 10 entries will advance to a Pitch Day, after which the top five will be selected for actual production and installation.
The final selected works are scheduled to be unveiled and installed on August 20th, 2026, at Central Pattaya shopping center. The competition offers a total prize pool of 150,000 baht.
