Pattaya, Thailand
Two Chinese tourists expressed deep gratitude and admiration for the Pattaya Tourist Police, an Indian tourist, and the Tourist Assistance Center (TAC) after their lost iPhone 16 was quickly located and returned, despite the device not having its “Find My iPhone” feature activated.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the pair accidentally dropped their brand-new iPhone 16 while using a Bolt ride-hailing service en route to Laem Bali Hai Pier. They were heading to Koh Larn for a day trip. Upon realizing the phone was missing, the tourists immediately sought help from officers at the Pattaya Tourist Police station.

Responding promptly, a patrol team from the Pattaya Tourist Police, together with TAC staff, launched an investigation. They coordinated with the ride-hailing service to trace the vehicle’s records and successfully identified that an Indian tourist had picked up the device after using the same car and was trying to find the owner as well.
Authorities arranged a meeting point, and the honest Indian finder cooperated fully, handing over the iPhone intact. The phone was safely returned to its relieved owners at Laem Bali Hai Pier.
The Chinese tourists were overwhelmed by the efficiency and care shown by the Thai officers and the helpful Indian Tourist.

Deeply impressed, one of the tourists shared the positive experience on a popular Chinese social media platform. In the post, they praised the Pattaya Tourist Police for their rapid response, professionalism, and genuine helpfulness, even without modern tracking tools. “The officers didn’t just find the phone; they arranged transport and made everything so convenient. It left us truly touched and with a great impression of Thai police, and also the honesty of the Indian tourist.” the post read.
