A 55-year-old American motorcyclist was killed instantly in a high-speed head-on collision with a sedan on an overpass in Chonburi province just outside of Pattaya late Thursday night.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on January 29th, 2026, on the elevated bridge crossing Highway 36 (known as the Pong Bridge) in the Pong sub-district of Banglamung. Lieutenant Colonel Natthabodin Thong-in, deputy investigator at Nongprue Police Station, received the report of a motorcycle colliding head-on with a passenger car, resulting in severe injuries.

Rescue teams from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rushed to the scene, where a large crowd had gathered. Officers found a red-and-black Ducati big bike, unregistered with no license plate, lying overturned on the road. Next to it lay the body of the rider, later publicly identified by police as Mr. Denne Palf Kary-Heinz, a 55-year-old U.S. citizen. He had sustained critical injuries, including severe chest trauma and both legs fractured unnaturally. Medical personnel confirmed he had died at the scene.

Nearby was a bronze-colored MG sedan with Bangkok license plates. The driver, Mr. Kittisak Raksa-chan, 53, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
According to Mr. Kittisak’s statement to police, he was driving home toward the Nongprue area when, upon reaching the bridge, a motorcycle suddenly approached at high speed from the opposite direction. The biker reportedly lost control, veered across lanes, and slammed head-on into his vehicle. After the impact, Mr. Kittisak immediately stopped and checked on the motorcyclist, finding him unconscious and motionless.

Authorities documented the scene with photographs and inspected the area while reviewing nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident. Legal proceedings will follow standard procedures.
