Pattaya City Updates Progress on Municipal Football Stadium: Main Building Complete, Roof Still Undergoing Major Redesign for Safety

Pattaya, Thailand – Pattaya City has provided the latest update on the ongoing construction of the Pattaya Municipal Football Stadium (also known as the Eastern Sports Stadium), confirming that the main building structure is now fully completed. However, the project’s roof requires significant renovation and redesign due to structural issues from prolonged delays.

According to city officials, while the core building work under the current contract has been successfully finished, the existing partial roof framework, installed during an earlier halted phase, has deteriorated over time. The steel structure has become damaged and deformed, making it unsuitable for continuation without major intervention.

If the original framework were used as-is, it could lead to serious problems, including cracked or misaligned joints, improper water drainage causing leaks, and most critically, overall safety risks for users and spectators.

To address these concerns, the city has opted for a comprehensive redesign and overhaul of the roof. The new approach will deliver a smooth, seamless covering with no breaks or distortions, featuring an elegant curved design and an improved drainage system to prevent long-term leakage issues.

Pattaya City stressed its commitment to delivering a high-standard facility that prioritizes safety, durability, and aesthetic quality. The revamped stadium wants to provide residents and visitors with a reliable, high-quality venue for sports and community activities, ensuring maximum benefit and protection for all users.

The project, part of efforts to enhance sports infrastructure in the region, continues to move forward with the roof work now a key focus. Further updates on timelines and completion are expected as construction progresses.
