Pattaya, Thailand – Police from Pattaya City Police Station have arrested a 44-year-old Chinese national in a controlled operation targeting the distribution of illegal vape pods laced with ketamine (commonly referred to as “K” or “K-pods”), as part of the Chonburi Provincial Police’s intensified crackdown on narcotics.
The suspect, identified as Mr. Xi Jiangdong (ซี่ เจียงตง), was apprehended on January 18th, 2026, near a parcel pickup point beneath a condominium in Soi Kao Phai in South Pattaya. Officers caught him in possession of 100 ketamine-laced vape pods that were prepared for delivery to customers.
Following the arrest, investigators expanded their operation and conducted searches at two additional accommodation locations linked to the suspect. The raids uncovered significant additional evidence, including:
– More ketamine-laced vape pods
– Cash totaling 90,000 baht
– Drug paraphernalia
– One vehicle believed to be used in the distribution network
Authorities plan to press charges against the suspect for selling prohibited goods and violations under Customs Act legislation, given the illegal importation and distribution aspects of the case. The arrested man has been transferred for formal legal proceedings.
Police said that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts now focused on tracing the source and production of these dangerous modified vape products. Officials believe the network may still be active, distributing the ketamine-infused pods across multiple popular tourist destinations in the region.
