Woman Urges Authorities to Address Homeless Issue After Vandalism to Her Car in Pattaya Area

Pattaya, Chonburi – January 17th, 2026– A 24-year-old woman has called on local authorities to take action against homeless individuals in the area after her black Mazda 2 sedan was according to her deliberately scratched, causing damage to the vehicle’s paintwork.

Miss Parichat Somphar reported that her car, bearing Bangkok license plate 1 ขฐ 6068, was parked in front of a commercial building in Khao Mai Kaeo where she resides. On the morning of January 16th, 2026, she discovered long, deep scratch marks running across the right front door and extending to the rear door.

After noticing the vandalism, Miss Parichat reviewed footage from nearby CCTV cameras. The recording clearly captured a woman believed to be homeless, wearing a black shirt and shorts, using a hard object to scratch the car at approximately 6:43 a.m. on the same day.

The victim stated that she has no idea what provoked the incident or what the motive might have been and that she did not know the suspect previously.

“I just want the relevant agencies and officials to step in and properly manage the situation with homeless people in the area,” Miss Parichat told The Pattaya News team. “This kind of damage to people’s property keeps happening, and something needs to be done to prevent it from recurring.”

Police from Huai Yai Police Station responded to the scene, inspected the damaged vehicle, documented the evidence, and collected the CCTV footage. The materials have been handed over to investigators and the detective unit, who are now working to identify and locate the suspect for legal proceedings.
