Pattaya, Thailand – The coastal city of Pattaya, a premier year-round tourism destination attracting both domestic and international visitors, is once again showcasing its strong potential for water sports and recreational activities. With its ideal coastline and resources, Pattaya supports events ranging from local gatherings to international competitions.
Recognizing the importance of promoting water-based sports, the city is focusing on developing activities such as jet skiing, speedboating, sports boats, banana boating, windsurfing, wing foiling, and stand-up paddleboarding. These efforts are to provide local youth and residents in Pattaya and nearby areas with opportunities to participate, hone their competitive skills, gain valuable experience, and encourage healthy lifestyles through productive leisure time.

Together with the Pattaya Jet Ski Club, Pattaya City is organizing the 2026 Pattaya Local Jet Ski and Speedboat Competition from January 8 to 11, 2026, at Jomtien Beach. This annual event seeks to nurture young talents and community members, build unity and sportsmanship, promote physical fitness, and elevate the overall standard of water sports in the region.

This year’s competition features a total of 12 categories, divided as follows:
– Speedboat categories (4 types): Formula One (F1), F5 two-stroke engine open, F30 two-stroke engine open, and Sport 40 open.
– Jet ski categories (8 types): Yamaha Pla O banana boat towing (up to 701cc), three-person banana boat, Yamaha Pla O 650cc two-seater, Yamaha Pla O 650cc standard, Yamaha Pla O 650cc standard (45+ years), Yamaha Pla O 650cc endurance, junior slalom (ages 8–13, seated), junior slalom (ages 8–13, standing), Yamaha XL/VN up to 700cc, and Runabout 800 stock.
Winners will receive honorary trophies from Pattaya City along with a total prize pool exceeding 300,000 baht.

The event receives support from various government and private sector organizations, including the Pattaya Jet Ski Club, Chonburi Provincial Sports Association, Chonburi Provincial Tourism and Sports Office, Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya Regional Harbour Office, Pattaya City Police Station, and other relevant Pattaya City agencies.
This competition forms part of broader efforts to integrate teamwork for tourism promotion in Pattaya, enhance the city’s image in sports and sports tourism, and position Pattaya as a true Sport City while advancing Sports Tourism in line with national policies from the government and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The event also contributes to sustainable economic stimulation across the city.
