Pattaya, Thailand– On Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet presided over the grand opening of the Pattaya National Children’s Day 2026 celebration in a special disguise.

The event, held under the national theme “Love Thailand, Care for the World” (รักชาติไทย ใส่ใจโลก), as proclaimed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, drew thousands of excited children, parents, and families to a day packed with joy, learning, and entertainment.

The annual observance, designated by the Thai government as the second Saturday of January, recognizes children and youth as the nation’s most valuable resource. It encourages all sectors of society to nurture their full potential, physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually, while developing discipline, responsibility, creativity, and freedom from harmful influences like drugs.

Pattaya City, fully committed to this mission, organized the event to provide a great platform for children to have fun, express themselves positively, and build awareness of their rights and duties. The celebration aimed to promote development and inspire young people to become responsible citizens contributing to Thailand’s future progress.

The program featured dazzling performances by students from Pattaya City schools, educational exhibition booths, thrilling amusement zones, and game stations with prizes generously donated by government agencies, private companies, businesses, and individuals. Free snacks, food, and beverages were distributed to all attending children and parents.

Adding to the excitement were eye-catching spectacles including massive dinosaurs, cool robots, golden lions and dragons, the spectacular The Circus Wonderland Parade, military vehicles, and a high-reach rescue basket from the Pattaya Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division, allowing kids to experience real emergency operations up close.

Organizers estimated that more than 5,000 children participated, creating a lively, cheerful atmosphere filled with laughter and energy.
In a delightful surprise, Mayor Poramese Ngampichet arrived dressed as the adorable circus mascot Barron, delighting the crowd and sparking waves of photo requests from thrilled children and parents alike. His playful appearance rivaled the giant dinosaurs and robots in stealing the show!

In his Children’s Day address, the mayor stated: “Pattaya recognizes the immense importance of children and youth, who will grow to become key forces in society and bear the responsibility of advancing our nation. I believe today’s activities will fill them with love, warmth, and goodwill from adults, helping them understand their roles in family, community, and society.

On this National Children’s Day 2026, I urge all children and youth, the precious resources of our beloved Thailand, to prepare diligently by studying hard, honing skills, and engaging in beneficial activities. This will equip you with knowledge and experience for a happy life and contribute to the enduring prosperity of our nation.”

The event was supported by city executives, council members, department heads, and partners from public and private sectors.
