Chonburi, January 10th, 2026
Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi Province rolled out the red carpet for families on National Children’s Day, treating thousands of young visitors to a day filled with joy, education, and unforgettable animal encounters.

The zoo, under the leadership of Director Narongwit Chotchoi, officially opened the special event with the theme “Love Thailand, Care for the World”. The atmosphere was electric as parents and children flocked to the popular attraction, creating a lively and cheerful environment throughout the grounds.

As a special gift to celebrate the occasion, the zoo offered free admission for children aged 12 and under (or those not exceeding 135 cm in height) on January 10–11, 2026. Senior citizens aged 60 and above also enjoyed complimentary entry during this festive period, encouraging family bonding and outdoor learning experiences.

The biggest crowd-pleaser was undoubtedly Moo Deng, the super-popular young pygmy hippopotamus, who made a charming appearance and stole the show with her playful antics.
Children were also thrilled to get up close with the zoo’s capybaras, the world’s largest rodents, as they came out to greet visitors and happily accepted treats from little hands.

Adding to the excitement, a lifelike moving dinosaur exhibit from Pattaya’s Dinosaur Park drew huge crowds of young explorers eager to see the realistic prehistoric creatures in action.
The Royal Thai Army’s 21st Field Artillery Regiment also joined the fun, bringing real military vehicles and equipment for children to see up close, inspiring curiosity while creating lasting memories.

Other major attractions included the spectacular elephant swimming show featuring the talented Plai Khao Kheow, who demonstrated impressive diving and swimming skills through the viewing glass, as well as the ever-popular penguin parade with more than 60 adorable penguins waddling proudly around the area to the delight of all.
Throughout the day, the zoo hosted stage performances, game booths, and prize giveaways, ensuring every child left with a big smile.

The two-day celebration successfully combined wildlife education, family fun, and patriotic spirit, making this year’s National Children’s Day at Khao Kheow Open Zoo one to remember.
