Teeth may seem like small organs, but in reality, they represent beauty, confidence, smiles, happiness — and the ability to chew and enjoy food properly.
This 74-year-old gentleman came to us with a long history of complete tooth loss. He had lost all his teeth more than 20 years ago and had been wearing a full denture made in the UK. Over time, the denture became loose, the teeth were worn down, and his chewing efficiency gradually declined.
After careful consultation, we explained that his new denture would need to be larger in size, not for cosmetic reasons alone, but because additional acrylic base was required to compensate for bone loss that had occurred over the years.
The patient was incredibly determined and cooperative, fully understanding that adaptation would take time and multiple adjustment visits.
With patience, teamwork, and proper adjustments, he was eventually able to chew comfortably again.
The old denture had teeth that were too small and poorly proportioned for his facial structure. Long-term wear caused instability during chewing, further reducing function.
For the new denture, we redesigned the smile by increasing the size of the anterior teeth to achieve better proportions. The result was a more youthful, refreshed appearance, improved chewing efficiency, and most importantly — renewed confidence.
Seeing our patient smile happily again is what gives us motivation and pride in our profession.
