Pattaya, Thailand– A Chinese man, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, is fighting for his life after plummeting from the fourth floor of a seven-storey hotel in Pattaya late Friday night, in an incident shrouded in mystery.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. on January 9th, 2026, at a hotel located in Soi Kopai 4. Pattaya City Police Station received a report of a foreign man falling from a height and sustaining severe injuries.
Officers quickly coordinated with rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and medical staff from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, who rushed to the scene to provide emergency aid.

At the site, in the ground-floor parking area near storage for equipment and paint cans, rescuers found the unidentified Chinese national in critical condition. He was barely breathing, had suffered fractures to both legs, and sustained serious injuries to his back. No identification documents were found on him. Emergency teams administered first aid on-site before urgently transferring him to a nearby hospital.
Preliminary investigations indicate the man fell from the emergency staircase on the hotel’s fourth floor. Hotel staff declined to comment to reporters when approached for information.

A witness, 43-year-old Arunakamon Raseeta, a som tam (papaya salad) vendor stationed in front of the hotel, explained to The Pattaya News team about hearing a loud thud that initially sounded like a paint can hitting the ground. Shortly afterward, hotel employees rushed to the area and alerted rescue services.
Police investigators are thoroughly examining the scene, gathering evidence, and questioning three Chinese friends who shared the same room as the victim. Authorities are working to determine whether the fall was an accident or involved other factors, as the probe continues.
