Pattaya, Thailand – January 9th, 2026
A group of Russian tourists turned a late-night alcohol run into a chaotic fistfight outside a convenience store in Pattaya’s Jomtien area, leaving one member of their party unconscious after a misaimed punch caused him to fall and hit his head on the ground.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:06 p.m. on January 8th, in front of a store in Jomtien.
Rescue services from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya received a report of a fight with injuries and quickly coordinated with Pattaya City Police to respond.
At the scene, authorities found seven Russian tourists, men and women, gathered around one of their friends who had been injured. The victim had been punched in the face, causing him to collapse and strike his head on the pavement, resulting in a head laceration and brief loss of consciousness.
Rescue volunteers provided first aid, but the injured man declined further hospital treatment.
The group, all friends traveling together, quickly reconciled after the scuffle. The involved parties hugged and made up before leaving the scene together and returning to their accommodation. No formal complaints were filed, and none of the tourists wished to pursue legal action.
Witnesses told responders that the group had entered the convenience store in good spirits to purchase alcoholic beverages. Upon exiting, an unknown dispute escalated rapidly, with bottles thrown and shattered on the ground.
Two men in the group began trading punches, while women and the eventual victim attempted to intervene and break up the fight. In the chaos, one of the combatants accidentally struck the intervener in the face, sending him sprawling backward. His head struck the concrete, knocking him unconscious.
Authorities arrived shortly after being alerted, but by then the group had already calmed down and resolved the matter amicably among themselves.
Incidents involving intoxicated tourists are not uncommon in Pattaya’s nightlife areas, though most end without serious injury or police involvement.
