Pattaya, Thailand – December 30th, 2025– Authorities in Pattaya officially opened a dedicated center to ensure water safety and convenience during the upcoming New Year celebrations, anticipating a surge in tourists flocking to the city’s beaches and waterways.
Kritphet Chaiyachue, Director-General of the Marine Department, presided over the inauguration ceremony at South Pattaya Pier (Bali Hai Pier) on Tuesday. He was joined by Isara Charoenchaisri, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, along with representatives from various agencies.

The initiative comes in response to the government’s declaration of the “Seven Days of Danger” campaign, running from December 30th, 2025, to January 5th, 2026. With extended public holidays expected to draw large crowds to coastal and marine tourist spots, the Pattaya Regional Marine Office has established the Joint Water Facilitation and Safety Center for New Year 2026.

Jarin Butrwong, Acting Director of the Pattaya Branch of the Marine Department, explained that the center aims to enforce strict safety measures and coordinate efforts among agencies. “We anticipate a significant influx of locals and tourists engaging in water-based activities,” he said. “This center will integrate personnel, equipment, and resources to maximize safety for passengers using ferries and boats, while providing rapid response to emergencies.”

The center is a group effort involving the Marine Operations Center (Sector 1), Pattaya City administration, Banglamung District, Pattaya Tourist Police, Chonburi Provincial Tourism and Sports Office, Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation in Pattaya, and the third cohort of the Marine Department’s Asawari Volunteer Network.

Officials expressed preparedness in reporting marine incidents, assisting victims, and protecting lives and property during the festive period.
This annual measure aligns with similar safety centers launched in previous years to manage high tourist volumes in Pattaya’s popular marine areas.
