Khao Kheow Open Zoo Invites Visitors to Camp Under the Stars and Experience Night Safari for New Year Celebrations

Chonburi, Thailand– As the year draws to a close, Khao Kheow Open Zoo is rolling out special holiday activities, encouraging visitors to pitch tents, stargaze by the lake, and observe nocturnal animals amid the cool winter breeze.

Narongwit Chodchoi, director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, announced that during the final week of the year, the zoo is hosting events to welcome the festive season. Visitors can enjoy the refreshing cool air surrounded by mountains and pristine nature. The highlights include camping by the lakeside for stargazing and the popular Night Zoo experience, offering a unique perspective on wildlife behavior after dark.

Guests will be thrilled to see various animals foraging naturally, such as herds of spotted deer, barking deer, and serow. The Night Zoo provides insights into nocturnal species, contrasting their daytime slumber. Notable residents include “Flash,” the famous two-toed sloth who sleeps during the day, hippopotamuses, giraffes resting in a seated position, zebras, white rhinos, Bengal tigers, gaur, slow lorises, and many more. These activities are available from now until December 31.

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, the zoo will host a special countdown event. Visitors can immerse themselves in the chilly atmosphere, marvel at the starry sky over the lake, and usher in the new year surrounded by serene natural beauty.

The festivities continue into January 1st, 2026, with opportunities to admire the adorable “Moo Deng,” the celebrity pygmy hippopotamus, red pandas, swimming elephants, and other star animals up close throughout the day.

For those interested in creating lasting New Year memories, more details and camping reservations can be obtained via the Khao Kheow Open Zoo Promotions Facebook page or by calling 038-318444.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo, one of Thailand’s largest open zoos, continues to offer immersive wildlife experiences, including its renowned night safaris that reveal a different side of animal life under the stars.
